It’s already Thursday the 12th of January over in Japan, so this post is legit.
Haruki Murakami was born on January 12 1949 in Kyoto, Japan, published his first novel thirty years later and is now considered one of the world’s greatest living novelists.
Hopefully he will continue to be at such a good health and always happy in his life so that he may run all these marathons and write a whole lot of new wonderful books for us. Happy Birthday, Haruki-san!

Gioachino Rossini - The Thieving Magpie (La Gazza Ladra)
“When the phone rang I was in the kitchen, boiling a potful of spaghetti and whistling along with an FM broadcast of the overture to Rossini’s ‘The Thieving Magpie’, which has to be the perfect music for cooking pasta.”
